MKT will remember the year 2018 for these reasons
The year 2018 is reaching its end – and what a year we’ve had! A lot has happened and now is an appropriate time to reflect on the highlights of the year.
100 years of MKT
The year 2018 has been a year of celebration for the MKT brand. The history of the 100-year-old MKT was celebrated by etching the MKT’s versatile story into an extensive corporate history (also available in English later).
We at MKT Dairy are proud to deliver the MKT brand message forward and to use it as inspiration for our operations. Our goal is to be the most innovative cheese maker in the world.
MKT present at the exhibitions: Anuga FoodTec and SIAL Paris
In 2018, MKT Dairy had a strong presence at the largest food exhibitions in the food industry. In March, we were at the Anuga FoodTec fair to present our activities, and in October we visited the SIAL Paris food innovation exhibition.
We had many interesting discussions at the exhibitions about the current situation in the food industry and especially the cheese industry and its future. Based on the visits to the exhibits, we can confidently state that even though it might not seem like it everywhere, the winds of change are most likely starting to blow – in the very near future.
Decreasing the carbon footprint of the food industry, innovative food products and increased digitalization are good examples of some of the themes that we discussed at this year’s exhibitions. These trends will also increasingly affect companies in the cheese industry.
The first complete cottage cheese production line in MKT history was delivered to Estonia
In the spring of 2018, MKT provided Valio Oy’s Estonian subsidiary, Valio Eesti AS, a new cottage cheese production line. This is especially significant since, for the first time in the history of our company, MKT Dairy delivered a complete cottage cheese production line including all the equipment.
Valio Eesti AS’s cottage cheese production line utilizes MKT’s innovative cutting mechanism which produces very little cheese dust. Evenly and precisely cutting blades make the cheese even in size and the amount of extra cheese coagulate and powder is decreased. Equally sized pieces have a significant effect on the homogeneous quality of every production batch and yield.
Goodbye 2018 – Hello 2019!
These were our highlights for 2018. Behind these highlights, there is constant activity and a lot of progress in, for example, product development – and we will also continue this work in the future. Right now, we’re excited about the automation solutions that are being developed. They will further optimize and make it easier to produce consistently high-quality cheese.
We will, however, return to these themes and discuss them in more detail next year. Now we want to thank all of our customers and partners for this year and wish you happy holidays and success for the year 2019!
